常磐津節ー常磐津文字兵衛氏　Tokiwazubushi-Mojibe Tokiwazu

先日、日本舞踊協会岩手県支部主催の研修指導講習会に参加してきました。『芸どころ盛岡と常磐津林中～実演を交えて～』

講師は、五世常磐津文字兵衛氏、不世出の名人と謳われた常磐津林中氏のご子孫だそうです。林冲氏はそもそも盛岡藩御側役のご子息であったことからの、このご縁のようでした。

2時間の講演は、あっという間。常磐津節の起こりから現代までの流れ、その音楽的特徴などを、実際の演奏を交えてお話し頂いたお蔭で、あ、そういうことなのかと、とても分かり易く、そして内容は濃密でした。踊り手として、本当に意味の大きな時間だったと思います。

The other day, I attended a workshop which was held by the Japanese Classical Dance Association Inc., Iwate branch. The theme of the lecture was "Morioka, a vibrant city of entertainment, as well as a talk about Rinchu Tokiwazu".

The lecturer was Mr. Mojibe Tokiwazu, the 5th descendant of Rinchu Tokiwazu who was called an extraordinary Tokiwazu musician. Mr. M. Tokiwazu also gave a shamisen performance. Rinchu was a son of a Morioka clan worker, so this workshop had a connection with him.

I felt the 2 hour lecture went by quickly. It was very simple, deep, but easy to understand about the beginnings as well as the character of Tokiwazu music. It was a very meaningful lecture for me as a dancer. 

林中氏のグラモフォン録音時の、ガイズバーグとのエピソードや、『河東裃、外記袴、半太羽織に義太股引、豊後かわいや丸裸』の例え話。一気にその曲を踊るイメージみたいなものが膨らんで、楽しい講習会だったわあ。

日本の三味線音楽の、流儀・ジャンルの在り方は、現代の私達にはちょっと不思議に思えるのですが、その辺りの謎も、キチンと紐解いて頂けて、有難かったです。

そういったお話は、もっと一般的になったらいいな、と思うので、またいつか機会があったら触れてみたいです。

Mr. M. Tokiwazu talked about an episode of Mr. Rinchu Tokiwazu and Mr.Gaisberg who was recording Mr. R. Tokiwazu at that time. He also used a metaphor describing the difference of each music style as different styles of clothing. " ....Tokiwazu music is cute, like being nude in nature." It gives me a more vivid image of dancing. Fun lecture!

He also explained about styles and genres of Shamisen music. They are all unique but his explaination solved the mystery as to why. I appreciated it.

I wish more people would be able to know such stories. So I may touch on this topic again later.
