鬼の手形　Demon's Hand Prints in the Rocks

先日の盛岡行、講習会の前にちょっとお楽しみも、ありました。

お流儀のお名取さんの営むお蕎麦屋さんへ・・

しかし到着が少し早かったので、近くを散歩。すると、岩手の語源となった『鬼の手形』の看板が・・辿って行くと、思いのほか沢山の人達が集まっており、皆携帯で写真を撮っていました。では、私も・・

There was another pleasure on our trip to Morioka the other day.

We went to a soba shop which is owned by a member of our dance company.The time we arrived was a little too early, so we took a walk in the neighborhood. Then, we found a sign that read " Demon's hand prints in the rocks" (the origin of Iwate: iwa=rock, te =hand)  ...followed it and found a lot of people, more than we expected. Everybody was taking cell-phone pictures. I did too!

しかし・・手形は?

帰ってから調べると、どうも手形は今となっては見えないらしい・・

But where are the hand prints?

After coming back, I checked the internet and found out that there are no more prints to be seen. Mysteriously disappeared!

私としては、こちらの欅に心奪われたけど・・

I was more interested in this tree. A zelkova tree.

凄い、この樹皮の模様。

と、そうこうするうち開店時間になったので、お店に取って返しました。

What interesting bark.

In the meantime, the restaurant's opening time came. We went back to the soba shop.

とても面白いお蕎麦屋さん。

メニューは、冷たい蕎麦のセットか温かい蕎麦のセットのみ。アルコールも無し。

聞くと、製麺がメインの店なので、敢えてのスタイル。工場脇のイートインという事らしい。

なんて贅沢なイートイン！！

冷たい蕎麦は、大根の汁(この白い泡が浮いているのが)に蕎麦出汁を足して食べる、美味しかった～！その上、１０００円でお釣りがくるお値段。素晴らしい!

次回、ぜひ温かいセットも食べたい。出汁がとても美味いらしい・・

この漆塗りの器に盛られた風情が、あ～久々に盛岡に来たなあ・・と感じさせてくれました。

この後、文字兵衛氏の講習に向かったのですが、その会場でも、夏の着物に身を包んだ舞踊家達がたくさん集まっており、・・“盛岡”っていう風情を再び実感。

A very interesting soba shop it was!

There were only 2 choices on the menu, hot soba or cold soba. There were no alchoholic beverages either.

It is an eat-in space beside soba factory, with the least amount of services available.

It has a very attractive atmosphere for such an eat-in place.

I had the cold soba which is eaten with Japanese radish juice added to a soy sauce dip. It was so delicious! And it cost under 1000 yen. Wonderful! 

I want to try the hot soba set next time. The soup seems very yummy.

The meal, served on Japan laquerware, made me feel I had arrived in Morioka.

After our meal, we went to the workshop by Mr.Mojibe Tokiwazu. In that room, there were lots of Japanese dancers in summer kimonos. I felt elegance in Morioka again!
